Now hiring: Part-Time Building Maintenance Worker (Ref: BMA20230403) The Germantown Public Library is now looking for a motivated team player to fill the position of Building Maintenance Worker. Be a part of an organization dedicated to delivering excellent service to our patrons through our physical and electronic materials, programming, and outreach. Open until filled. Part-time Non-Exempt. Non-Exempt, Estimated 10-20 hours per week, $16 – $20 depending on qualifications/experience, morning hours preferred OPERS retirement, 10 paid holidays, generous sick and vacation time accruals. This position is responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of the library building and grounds. The work requires performance of semi-skilled functions in a safe and efficient manner. The work is performed under the general supervision and inspection of the Facilities Manager and/or Executive Director. Job Duties:  Makes semi-skilled repairs on the interior and exterior of buildings, and on facility equipment.  Paints buildings, structures, and fixtures using brushes, rollers, and spray guns after determining proper coating and application method.  Replaces and repairs bathroom facilities and fixtures; repairs toilets, urinals, water fountains, and other plumbing fixtures.  Notifies director about major work required on buildings and facility equipment.  Maintains proper heating and air-conditioning of buildings, checking filters periodically.  Monitors thermostats and HVAC controllers  Repairs, plasters, hangs, and finishes drywall and other interior work.  Performs janitorial duties to supplement janitorial contract  Repairs roofs, ceilings and installs drop ceilings.  Maintains grounds, lawns and walks and removes litter. Trims and cultivates trees and shrubs and performs other landscaping chores.  Sets up chairs and equipment for meetings and special events. Relocates various items such as furniture and library equipment to central storage areas.  Replaces lamps and ballasts and other minor electrical repairs.  Clears snow and ice from parking lot and sidewalks  Maintains and operates library equipment. Now hiring: Accounting Clerk / Deputy Fiscal Officer (Part-Time) (Ref: DFO20230403) Open until filled. The Germantown Public Library is now looking for a motivated team player to fill the position of Accounting Clerk / Deputy Fiscal Officer. Be a part of an organization dedicated to delivering excellent service to our patrons through our physical and electronic materials, programming, and outreach. This position will provide professional level service in helping administer the financial operations of the Library. This position acts as the primary support staff member reporting to the Director / Fiscal Officer. The position will help assure that all financial operations including receipt and disbursement of cash, investments and payroll are carried out in accordance with applicable statutes of the State of Ohio, the policies of the Auditor of State and sound financial practices. OPERS retirement, 10 paid holidays, generous sick and vacation time accruals. This position may be hired at Grade 5 (Accounting Clerk) or Grade 6 (Deputy Fiscal Officer) depending on education and experience. Hiring range of $16.10 – $21.35 per hour depending on qualifications. The position is considered part-time with flexible schedule. 15-30 hours per week. Skills Required:  Familiarity with computerized accounting systems preferably UAN (Ohio Auditor of State systems)  Experience with accounting or bookkeeping operations (preferably in a public entity)  Ability to communicate effectively concerning financial documentation  Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with attention to detail Typical Duties:  Responsible for helping oversee the financial operations of the library. Follow all legal and procedural regulations for receiving, appropriating and investing funds.  Complete monthly bank reconciliations  Help maintain payroll and fringe benefit records  Help maintain all financial records as required by the Auditor of State  Prepare monthly reports for Board of Trustees  Work with Director on annual budgets. Provide reports to assist in implementing budgets as approved  Help ensure compliance with reports and submissions required by federal, state and other local governments  Help prepare contract bid documentation and specifications  Assist the Director in matters of a human resources and library administration Preferred Skills/Qualifications:  High-school diploma or G.E.D.  Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred  Experience in banking, public finance, bookkeeping, accounting, and/or payroll operations.
